The Girl and the Broken Camera
Lily loved taking photos more than anything. Every weekend, she went to the park near her house with her small digital camera. She took pictures of flowers, birds, and children playing on the swings. One sunny afternoon, while she was taking a picture of a butterfly, her camera slipped from her hands and hit the ground. The screen cracked, and it stopped working.
Lily felt so sad. She picked it up and whispered, “I’m sorry.” She went home quietly and put the broken camera on her desk. The next morning, her father noticed her sadness and asked what happened. When she told him, he smiled and said, “Let’s see what we can do.” Together, they opened the camera and tried to fix it. It wasn’t perfect, but it started working again.
Overjoyed, Lily ran outside and took a photo of her father smiling. Later, when she looked at the picture, she realized it was her favorite one — not because it was beautiful, but because it reminded her of kindness, patience, and love.
From that day, she decided to take photos not just of things, but of moments that matter.
